- The gruesome VST Twosome (By Range)
Price Value Quality
When Blackout Effectors say "hand made with precision and balls" well... that says it all and, believe me, they back it up.
The right side (The Musket Fuzz) is wide, thick and gnarly yet, if you want to do the precise chug-chug-chug-cut chug-chug-chug-cut of metal rhythms, this fuzz will NOT scream or whine or inject unwanted feedback noise artifacts at the cuts. Your cuts will be totally clean, providing, you don't have your axe up in the speakers.
There are so many tweak knobs making it virtually useless to advise another musician on specific settings. It is totally dependent upon your choices in how it will sound. Tweak and ye shall find! It can sound creamy and fat, stabbingly injurious, hard-rockish etc. It can be Hendrixy too but, it leans towards the modern metal/rock arena. I will say that it floats lead-guitar riffs effortlessly over ANY background. It will not have ANY problem stomping on top of the loudest bass/guitar rigs (if you really need to do that). EVERY MINOR TWEAK to ANY knob produces a MAJOR shift. Again, handmade with PRECISION.
PRECISION is THE key word here. None of my other pedals respond to such minor changes with such major impacts. When you tweak a knob, or flip a switch on a Blackout Effectors pedal, you will HEAR the difference... IMMEDIATELY!
The Left side (the Fix'D Fuzz) – WHOA!! Now here is a snarly, snapping, blistering, sputtering, spitting, lashing, grinding, flame emitting dragon of a fuzz. It easily emulates a dying battery, but with balls. When you use the Fix'D Fuzz feeding into the Musket, or vice versa... WATCH OUT! Now, you WILL get into the realm of uncontrollable feedback &white noise spewing frequencies that come at you from all over the audio spectrum. Sometimes, I set the Fix'D fuzz at ridiculously cranked up levels and, with my guitar volume off, I tweak knobs and just delight in the rich textures of feedback & white noise that emanates from it. You want craziness??? YOU GOT IT!
Both fuzzes are very tight when you rein them in, they can also be uncontrollably WILD. They have so many possibilities and I just feel very fortunate to have one.
I will be adding the Crystal Dagger in the near future and... a Blackout Effectors cap! See ya'll at NAMM 2014.
Hope this helps.
No, I have no relationship with Blackout Effectors... (Posted on 12/30/13)

Fuzz 2 is madness but can tamed.
If you only wanted to haul around one fuzz, this would be it.

Blackout Effectors Twosome Dual Fuzz
Blackout Effectors Twosome Dual Fuzz
The Blackout Effectors Twosome Dual Fuzz is a unique blend of circuits from two of Blackout Effectors flagship fuzz pedals in one enclosure. On the left side is the Fix'd fuzz with the addition of external controls for the Fuzz 1 and Fuzz 2 instead of internal trim pots. On the right side is the uber powerful Musket Fuzz circuit capable of tones that can melt your face off.
One side of the Blackout Effectors Twosome Dual Fuzz is the Fix'd Fuzz. This circuit features a knob for Boost which allows you to use it as a clean boost push your tube amp into overdrive or to slam into the internal fuzz stages of the pedal yielding those great overdriven fuzz tones without the need for additional pedals. The knobs for Fuzz 1 and Fuzz 2 control each of the individual fuzz circuits and can be used individually or together for a little sonic madness. All 4 stages of the circuit are bypass-able via their respective toggles, meaning you can add/remove from the stack as your black heart desires.
The other side of the Blackout Effectors Twosome Dual Fuzz is the Musket. This circuit features one of the most famous fuzz tones in the world with even more muffiness. If you love vintage Big Muffs but you needed something more the Musket fuzz is a dream come true.
The new Blackout Effectors Twosome Dual Fuzz is truly a game changer. With this much of Blackout Effectors sweet fuzzy goodness in one pedal, why would you need anything else?
Blackout Effectors Twosome Dual Fuzz Features:
- Two pedals in one Fix'd and Musket fuzz
- 9 volt DC power supply only (not included); no battery operation
- 4 Toggle Switches activate different stages of the circuit
Blackout Effectors Twosome Dual Fuzz Includes:
- 2 Year Limited Warranty
- Reference and Owners Manual
