Not the cheapest Compressor on the market but one of the best I have used. Tons of options, great sounds and top of the line components. If you want a near studio grade compressor do your self a favor and get this. I always keep it on in my signal path (Posted on 6/28/15)
One Of The Best Compressors Available.  (By Richard)

I'm an old dude who's been using pedal effects since they first started becoming available in the '60s. I'm pretty sure I own the best of most of them. Pedal Compressors have, for the most part, been limited to either guitar types like the Ross or Orange Squeezer or, for bigger money, studio type compression in a foot pedal design like Joe Meek's Floor Q or the Cali76 series.

My search that resulted in the purchase of the Compressor Pro actually started as ....
"I'm going to buy the Analogman Bi- Comp but I'll check out all the latest offerings first".
I must say compressors have had some nice additions added to what's available for the guitarist's pedal board. Some very nice examples that I chose the Compressor Pro over included Bearfoot FX Pale Green, the Empress Compressor, (and I'm usually a fan of Empress), JHS Pulp 'n Peel V3, (possibly better than Analogman's Juicer), Keeley's GC-2 Limiting amplifier and the Keeley original 4 knob comp., the Wampler Ego and the latest versions of the Cali76. Each of those I've mentioned deserve a strong look / see by any guitarist looking for a pedal board compressor. In one way or another they're all excellent.

It was actually the Keeley GC-2 that clued me in that a Ross clone, (I still consider the Analogman Comprossor to be the best), wasn't on the path I was traveling. While this type of compressor has been a mainstay for at least two generations I really believe the "studio to floor" type compressors are the better alternative. The issue I've had in the past with this type compressor has always been the cost. The Cali76 was, (and still is), the best. They offer a series of compressor pedals in the $400+ to $700+ price range. Their more expensive offerings cannot be beat by any other pedal board compressor. That said ..... I've spent that much for Delay / Echo or Synth pedals but just can't see that type of investment for a compressor pedal. Joe Meek's Floor Q was their first competition but, (even at less than half their price), it just didn't pass muster. In the Joe Meek price range I would buy the Analogman Bi-Comp first ..... or the Wampler Ego.
When I checked out the Keeley Compressor Pro I finally found a pedal that could compete with the lower and mid range models of the Cali76 for 2 / 3rd s to one half the price. The Keeley does not beat the top of the line Cali but I don't have to sell a lung to afford one, (I did that for a Gibson Custom Shop Guitar). I've only got the one left.
Dollar for dollar I truly believe the Keeley Compressor Pro to be the best pedal board compressor available tor today's guitarists. I love the LED light row that lets me know exactly when and what's being compressed. I love the Hard / Soft Knee switch. I super love the "attack" control that allows my humbucker equipped guitars to sound as good as my single coil guitars when using compression.
OK. Now I'm even older than I was when I started this review. I've got to go now.

If I would have to pick only one pedal to own, being the compressor fanatic that I am, it would be this new Compressor Pro. I first bought the new Keeley Bassist compressor first (another really great compressor), and when this new one came out, bought it also. Totally quiet, hard and soft knee choice, all you hear is your instrument. Played my bass with the Threshhold, Comp Ratio, and Hard Knee set for a very compressed bass sound, and did not get that annoying "pumping", or "breathing" that other comps. do on these settings. Extremely good comp. for an inexpensive price. (Posted on 4/4/15)

Keeley Electronics Compressor Pro

Keeley and Compressors are often mentioned in the same sentence, and you’d be hard pressed to find a discussion about one without the other. Rather than shy away from this manner of typecasting, Robert Keeley has instead embraced the role and has returned with the Compressor Pro, a piece he’s been working on for years.

To call the Compressor Pro Robert’s most ambitious undertaking in the compressor realm would be an understatement. Prior to the Pro, Keeley’s most full-featured box was his C4, a four-knob compressor. Now, over a decade after Keeley rolled his first compressor pedal off the line and into stores, the Pro is set to take over your pedalboard and your perception of compressors.

The Pro is the rare compressor that transcends both the “as an effect” and the “always on” realm of compressors. It can be set as transparent as a player would like, and it can be set to pump with the best of them for an authentic “chicken pickin’” session. It can’t be set to absolutely flatline your signal, but, quite frankly, it’s just too good for that. Like a great studio compressor, it sounds good at literally every setting, and makes your tone sound like a polished would-be platinum record.

Now for the nerdy stuff: The Compressor Pro is a VCA type, just like those you’d find in any premium studio rig. The internals utilize an ultra-high fidelity THAT Corp. 4320, which is audio royalty. Keeley puts the IC to work in a most pleasing way that provides sonic purity with as much squish as you’d ever need.

The controls will sound familiar to anyone that’s used a compressor; Threshold, Ratio, Attack, Release and Gain round out the knob set. An interesting way of using the pedal is that of a boost pedal; with the Ratio set to 1:1, aka no compression, you can use the Gain control to add that certain special something.

The Auto mode is new; it allows players to bypass Attack and Release knobs for a no-nonsense organic compressor experience. The Knee switch changes from hard compression (limiting, sustain) to soft-knee compression, which adds an overall “Sweetening” effect. Couple these together, and you’ve got a seriously flexible piece of kit.

There’s also an LED meter to measure compression/gain reduction in real time, as well as a Threshold bi-color LED to know when the signal is clipping. Basically, if you’ve thought of a feature you’ve wanted in a compressor, it’s in here.
