Sharper Professional tone  (By Craig)

Use mine as a limiter before delay and reverb so they don't explode on transients and accented notes. Very transparent. Also flattens resonances from my auto-wah. This is an always-on pedal.

My SG sustains for days already, do I did not hear an improvement there in compression mode.

Nice easy set up. Just dial in the threshold, dial in the desired compression, then set the gain. could not be easier.

I learned that Michael Hedges used the same chip in his dbx 160 compressor on tours. I can see why. It has clean quiet dynamics control. (Posted on 6/5/16)

Used it tonight with the band for the first time, very transparent but does it's job and compressing. Clean tones sound wonderful, I use it and wanted to other effects. (Posted on 11/7/15)

This one adds sustain and clarity while retaining all your pinch harmonics while over driven. The cleans are pristine and this unit is next to silent. It is like no other compressor out there and the ones with blend knobs miss the point of studio grade compression. I am amazed and think this one could in fact be Keeley's best pedal of 2014. The house of blue lights is on fire with this one. Get one and thank me later. (Posted on 12/25/14)
A Game Changer!  (By Rick)

I didn't know a lot about compressors when I fist moved to Nashville, but one of the A Team players recommended I get one right away if I wanted to play sessions, which was why I moved there. So I got a Dyna-Comp. And used it for a fairly long time until the first Keeleys came out. I was amazed at the difference in my sound immediately. I had no idea that the dyna-comp was coloring my sound for close to a decade, but my vintage Strat and ES-335 sounded so much more like themselves with the first Keeley, there was no going back - period.

Before I heard Pete Thorn's demo for the GC-2, I was relatively content with my sound. I certainly didn't expect to be changing out my compressor. But WoW - what a machine! Plugging into it is truly like plugging into a really good studio's compressor, and the way it makes my chords bloom is a wonder to behold! I can get the most Southern Fried Chickin' Pickin' sounds with this - it makes a TX and TN Transplant from NJ sound legit:) I haven't found one unmusical setting other than the one (purposefully) offered in the manual! My dirt pedals just love the GC-2 and respond to its magic beautifully. In fact, every effect on my board sounds better with the GC-2 in front of it.

Every now and then, a product comes out that changes my idea of what great sound is to me, and it literally changes my musical world. The GC-2 Limiting Amplifier has had me smiling since I received it last Friday. I don't want to put my guitars down, and gigging with it was for me, a sublime experience. Robert Keeley's effects and mods have beguiled many guitarists and Bassists to change their gear ever since the first, and still astounding, two knob Compressor hit the scene. Most of us want to sound and play better than we do - the GC-2 Guitar Limiting Amplifier gives a big leg up in reaching for the stars - with our guitars! (Posted on 12/17/14)

Keeley GC-2 Limiting Amplifier

While compressors have a long storied history in the pedalsphere, anyone that's played through a real studio compressor will sing it's praises over the lowly stompbox every time. Often times, pedals simply can't accommodate the scads of components needed for a proper studio piece. Thus, a schism exists between the studio and pedal compressor.

Luckily, Robert Keeley, electronic sorcerer is on the case, and his latest offering bridges the gap between these two worlds in stunning fashion.

The new Keeley Limiting Amplifier is modeled after the legendary DBX (MODEL NEEDED) and due to Robert's painstaking PCB design and advent of tiny surface-mount devices, it's an exceptionally faithful modeling.

For starters, the heart of the Limiting Amplifier is the THAT 4320, an ultra high-fidelity integrated circuit that helps give the Limiting Amplifier a bandwidth of 20kHz. This means that no audible frequencies will be omitted. What does this mean for you? THE MOST transparent compression in pedal format, period.

A big knock on the pedal compressor is the noise level. Many of them are quite noisy and finicky. Even compressors that are advertised as low-noise are still a little noisy with the levels cranked. We are happy to report that the Keeley Limiting Amplifier is exceptionally quiet. Much like a studio compressor that goes to great lengths in noise filtering, so too does the Keeley.

It's only fitting that the next step of pedal compressors is brought to is by Keeley, whose name is synonymous with the effect.

The Keeley Limiting Amplifier is hand-made in Oklahoma, and accepts a standard 9v center-negative Boss-style power supply. It's isolated power supply ready!
