- A TS for TS haters? (By moosie)
Price Value Quality
It's not bumping the Timmy, though, because that one is truly transparent (your tone plus grit). The BN does color things a bit, but it's mild and pleasing.
The Hot toggle and Fat control make for a lot of range. Growly to biting.
I might like it better than the Wampler Paisley. Both are on the board now, and they're fairly similar. (Posted on 11/20/14)
- Outstanding low gain foundation drive (By Dunzie)
Price Value Quality
Has kicked several other low gain drives off my board, including the Timmy I loved. It's just so smooth and sweet sounding at low gain settings that if you like your clean tone you'll love this as a foundation.
But, it still has a lot of versatility and can be used with a lot of gain especially with the toggle bumped up. I just happen to prefer it as a low gainer and have other options for higher gain. (Posted on 11/8/14)

J. Rockett Audio Designs Blue Note OD
The Rockett Pedals Blue Note OD is a completely organic and woody overdrive that is similar, in some ways, to the classic tube screamer circuit, but with a whole lot more drive at your disposal. It is not a tube screamer clone, but the Blue Note OD gets you into the same sonic territory, but with a whole lot more variety in overdrive. As with other Rockett Pedals, you have many tonal shaping options, but with the Rockett Pedals Blue Note OD, there are some very subtle variations in this classic tone that can really enhance the natural drive and sound of this pedal. The Volume knob and Gain knob are similar to other overdrive pedals, controlling signal level and amount of drive, respectively. Here's where it gets interesting. The Tone knob is voiced for usable frequencies, without the extremes seen in other pedals - it has a subtle, but noticeable effect on your tone. The Fat knob is the same - a subtle but noticeable thickening of your tone. The Hot switch brings out more mids, more gain, and more lows. Using all of these tonal shaping options in conjunction with each other can give you endless varieties of that classic blues, classic rock, and hard rock overdrive. These options also make the Rockett Pedals Blue Note OD perfect to use for single coils, humbuckers, and any combination of amplifiers.
Rockett Pedals Blue Note OD
The Rockett Pedals Blue Note OD takes that classic organic overdrive tone and adds some excellent tonal shaping options that will bring out the subtleties and dynamics of your playing and your guitar and amp. The Fat and Tone knobs are more understated than you'd expect - there is not the extremes in frequencies that other pedals have. But these subtle tonal shaping options really enrich the natural overdrive signal of this pedal - these are usable frequencies, rather than extreme highs and lows. The Hot switch is perfect for lead work, and really adds some depth to single note lines. The Rockett Pedals Blue Note OD, as with other Rockett Pedals pedals, is perfect for nearly all guitars and amps. With the tonal shaping options in this pedal, you can switch guitars and amps in confidence, knowing that you won't also have to switch out your pedals to get your sound. Excellent.
Rockett Pedals Blue Note OD Features:
- Volume: controls level of signal
- Gain: controls amount of drive
- Hot: engage for more mids, gain, and lows
- Tone: controls high and low frequencies
- Fat: controls thickening of tone
