The Durham Sex Drive Clean Boost pedal was originally designed for Charlie Sexton who needed a clean boost with extra low end sustain when needed.  So Durham Electronics came up with an ultra-transparent clean boost pedal that has a built in compressor.  The Durham Sex Drive features 3 settings of compression (Soft, Hard, and Off) that won’t squash the guitar signal.  The Sex Drive is completely hand built and hand wired with Teflon wire and full sized Alpha pots.  Durham decided against True-Bypass on this pedal (and all their pedals) and opted for a line buffer.  This allows the Sex Drive to clean up your tone even when bypassed.
