Barber Direct Drive Mod PCB
You all know that the Barber Direct Drive is one of the most responsive overdrive pedals on the market today. The unparalleled separation and clarity of the Direct Drive has been noted by guitar players around the world. Now welcome to the next step. With the introduction of Barber’s Mod PCB for the Direct Drive, there are worlds of guitar tone tweakability and fine tuning that can be accomplished. Here’s what you get.
Barber Direct Drive Mod PCB Trimmers
First, you get a Barber Direct Drive. Unequaled overdrive tone right out of the box. The Mod PCB adds the addition of 4 internal trimmers. Note Shape takes your low end from tight to round giving the ability to introduce a slight bit of “sag” into your guitar. The Harmonics trimmer adjusts the amount of secondary harmonics introduced into the overdrive. This helps the Direct Drive dry up, or add harmonic depth like you’ve never experienced. The Midrange adjust gives you the ability to cut or boost the amount of midrange present. The Fizz Filter lets you tame down the high end fizz from vintage or low wattage speakers when playing at low volumes. This is also useful for taming super bright amplifiers and providing a slightly smoother, creamier overdrive tone.
Barber Direct Drive Mod PCB Switches
Next the Barber Direct Drive Mod PCB adds four dip switches as well. There is a Gain switch that engages a higher gain mode for those of you who just want more. Next is the Asymmetry 1 switch. This activates a compressed, asymmetrical clip mode that sounds very vintage and very cool. There is also the Asymmetry 2 switch. This little bad boy takes the Direct Drive into the lowest compression mode with slight asymmetry for a wicked lead cut that lights up humbuckers and P90’s. Last is the Fizz Filter Bypass. If you don’t want to use the Fizz Filter, don’t!
So if you like your Direct Drive but really like to tweak with your pedals for the absolute perfect tone, the Barber Mod PCB equipped version is definitely for you!
