The Rockbox Boiling Point has your usual features of Gain, Drive, and Tone controls as well as a Bass Boost switch and a three way clipping switch for Symmetrical, Asymmetrical, and Clean Boost modes. The Symmetrical mode just drips pure Plexi. A warm, somewhat dark overdrive tone bursts forth from the Boiling Point just bleeding off harmonics and overtones. Low Drive settings yield a crunchy 70’s rhythm tone while higher gain settings bring out the harmonics and sustain. The Asymmetrical mode is more open and natural sounding. This mode is designed to emulate tube amp breakup. In this mode you can find all of your favorite overdrive settings like Stevie and Skynyrd along with high gain sounds ala Metallica and Slayer.
